Playing with Pinwheels

July 25, 2017

Today I had an epiphany...

Whenever I set out to work on some aspect of my project that requires any sort or exploration (which is everything right now)--especially when that aspect of my project requires me to play and experiment with craft materials or when I need to surf the internet for ideas and what not--I feel like I am just wasting time. I realized that this is because all the things I currently doing, making, and exploring are the very things I used to do when I was wasting time between homework assignments. Only now, I have permission, or at least I need to give myself permission, to just play. I need to watch "how to" videos. I need to surf the internet for artificial plants. I need to crotchet sample swatches. I need to do what I did today and make seven different pinwheels. Because, after all isn't that the whole point!

Want to know more about my pinwheel exploration? Don't worry, I will not disappoint...

My sister and my niece sent me this snapchat video because it reminded them of the air element (I know, I know, I still need to explain this whole elements thing and I promise I will...soon).

Well of course after I saw the video I was inspired to do some pinwheel exploration of my own. So of course I turned to The Google and was not disappointed. I found several pinwheel templates, which I proceeded to print out and make. I am still not sure how or even if I will use this in my project, but like I said earlier, it doesn't matter. Click here to download a PDF containing templates for each of these pinwheels.

I even found a couple of YouTube videos; this one in particular tickled my fancy:
